Stride for a Cause: MSHB joins the Kiltwalk and Makes a Difference!

Miller Samuel Hill Brown recently participated in the Kiltwalk across Edinburgh to raise funds for the Glendrick Roost Animal Welfare Centre. The Kiltwalk, known as the largest mass participation walking event in the UK, has garnered significant attention since its inception in 2016, with over 172,000 participants joining in to support various charitable causes.

Becca King, Trainee Solicitor, expressed, "The route, starting in Musselburgh, through Portobello, along the canal at Leith, and through a cycle path through central Edinburgh, offered stunning views. It was a gorgeous sunny day (although slightly cold), making it a wonderful way to raise money for Glendrick Roost Animal Welfare Centre while experiencing the beauty of the Capital and proudly displaying our kilts!"

Glendrick Roost Animal Welfare Centre is based near Aberfoyle and is a home for neglected, abused or unwanted animals that are in need of care. They welcome all kinds of animals, "from gerbils to Clydesdale horses!" to their refuge and look after each and every one with care and protection. They aim to advance the education of the general public on the principles and practices of animal welfare. Glendrick Roost Animal Welfare Centre rescues and rehomes animals and, where possible, rehabilitates them back into the wild. They promote responsible pet ownership and report any suspected animal cruelty or neglect. Alongside caring for animals, they offer tours and group visits to their sanctuaries. They depend on donations from the public and the work of volunteers.
