This past weekend, four of our Trainee Solicitors, Gillian Irving, Tessa Hickey, Becca King, and Holly Lafferty, participated in the AJ Bell Great Scottish Run, tackling the half marathon and 10k challenges to raise essential funds for our charity partner, Glasgow City Mission. The event, which commenced and concluded in the city centre, provided a platform to showcase Glasgow's remarkable urban architecture, green spaces, and cultural heritage.
Gillian Irving, who led our team in the race, expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming support at the event. "We are deeply grateful for everyone who came out to cheer us on at the AJ Bell Great Scottish Run. Your support, along with the efforts of our runners, has made a significant impact. Supporting Glasgow City Mission was an easy decision, considering their incredible work for those affected by homelessness, addiction, and poverty."
The funds raised will contribute to Glasgow City Mission's various initiatives, including operating an Overnight Welcome Centre in Glasgow City Centre. This centre provides a comforting and safe space for rough sleepers during the harsh winter months. With your support, we aim to ensure the centre is fully equipped and operational. Additionally, the City Centre Project is dedicated to improving the well-being of individuals facing homelessness, while the Child and Family Centre in Govan provides vital support to families, striving to break the cycle of poverty for future generations.
While the AJ Bell Great Scottish Run was a significant step towards our fundraising goals, the need for donations remains ongoing. Your support is crucial and can make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families supported by Glasgow City Mission.
