Today marks the day that Miller Samuel Hill Brown LLP made legal history by representing clients at the very first hearing of the newly formed First Tier Tribunal for Scotland (Housing and Property Chamber).

Deborah Carmichael, a partner in our litigation department represented clients in a claim to the Homeowner Housing Panel which was heard today by the newly former First-Tier Tribunal for Scotland.The First-tier Tribunal for Scotland (Housing and Property Chamber) was formed to deal with determinations of rent or repair issues in private sector housing as well as assistance in exercising a landlord’s right of entry.

The First-tier Tribunal for Scotland (Housing and Property Chamber) performs the functions which used to be carried out by the Private Rented Housing Panel (“prhp”) and the Homeowner Housing Panel (“hohp”).
