In this month’s newsletter, we’d like to take the opportunity to introduce our Commercial Property team and highlight the broad range of excellent services it provides.
The team’s structure - comprising four partners, one solicitor, one trainee and two paralegals – ensures clients can take comfort in the knowledge that they’ll receive expert advice from an experienced partner with a detailed understanding of their clients’ business sector, whatever it might be. We assist a range of clients from individuals and small local businesses to large developers and commercial retailers – providing bespoke advice on a range of transactions such as purchasing, funding and lease work etc.
Aileen Thomson is a partner who services both our Residential and Commercial Property departments. She has many years of experience assisting well known retail and licensed trade clients in respect of commercial, retail and residential developments.
Caroline Summers is a partner in our commercial property team with experience in various specialisms. Through secondment to a major UK developer Caroline has gained unique experience in development work – acting in investment purchases and sales, auction work, leases and securities. She has extensive corporate support experience in the property aspects of corporate transactions and has also worked closely with public sector bodies, in particular, local enterprise companies and councils in major property based initiatives.
John Cowan is a partner with over 20 years’ experience in commercial property transactions. Over the years, John has built up a strong client base, assisting with commercial property aspects of business purchase and sales, as well as other acquisition, development and lease work.
Peter J Lawson is a partner and head of our commercial property team. Peter is also a vastly experienced licensing lawyer, listed in the Chambers directory of legal experts. This combined specialism enables Peter to provide a unique service to clients, in particular, with work concerning uses of premises in the entertainment and licensing industries. He has many years’ experience assisting independent and national clients with all their property and licensing requirements.
We also work closely with our commercial litigation department – assisting clients with property and lease disputes, contentious construction matters and more.
