David Phinn Promoted to Associate in Litigation Team at MSHB

Miller Samuel Hill Brown (MSHB) is proud to announce the well-deserved promotion of David Phinn to the position of Associate in the Litigation team. This achievement is a testament to David's hard work and the firm's commitment to nurturing and recognising talent.

David's passion for the legal profession and his natural talent for advocacy have been apparent since his university days. He pursued his academic studies at the University of Glasgow (UofG) in 2014 and graduated in 2018. In 2019, he obtained a Diploma in Professional Legal Practice from UofG. He started his traineeship with MSHB in August 2019 and has continued to excel within the firm. Both clients and colleagues have recognised his enthusiasm for fighting for his clients and exceptional skill in navigating challenging disputes with a calm approach. His promotion to Associate is a testament to his hard work and invaluable contributions to the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department.

David said, "I am genuinely pleased that my commitment to the firm has been recognised in this way. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the firm (five years this August!) during which time I have been a trainee solicitor, qualified as a solicitor, and now been promoted to Associate! I am looking forward to taking up this new role and getting involved with the firm and, in particular, the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department at a more senior level. Here's to the next five years!"

Diane Cairney, Head of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department, expressed her pleasure in witnessing David's professional and personal growth. She stated, "He has a natural flair for navigating challenging and demanding disputes with a calm approach, which clients and colleagues find reassuring. He is an asset to our team, and I look forward to working alongside him as we continue to go the extra mile for clients and expand and develop the team."

Furthermore, David's involvement as a member of the Law Society of Scotland's New Lawyers Reference Group showcases his commitment to the legal profession beyond his day-to-day responsibilities.

Marie Macdonald, the Chairman of MSHB, emphasised the firm's delight in David's development and the value he brings to the team and clients. "We want all of our clients to have a first-class experience when instructing us and David's promotion reflects the key relationships he is building and the invaluable training he provides in the team, which supports the firm. The firm is enjoying a period of sustained growth and the recruitment and retention of young talent like David is crucial to our success and strategic development. It is exciting to see so many young, motivated solicitors coming through the profession in general and the firm in particular and I am sure that they will contribute to our continued and future success."

David's journey from trainee to Associate exemplifies the firm's commitment to nurturing talent and providing a platform for professional growth. At Miller Samuel Hill Brown, we always want to hear from talented people who share our enthusiasm.
