Remembering Rubylu: A Tribute to a Brave Soul

We are heartbroken to share that our Charity Partner, Glendrick Roost Animal Sanctuary, tragically lost one of their beloved dogs last month.

Rubylu was a brave soul who came to the Sanctuary 6 years ago when she was abandoned after a cancer diagnosis. With the tireless support of the Sanctuary, Rubylu defeated cancer.

Rubylu overcame more adversity after a fall leaving her unable to stand or walk. After 10 months of physio, 4 hours a day provided by the Sanctuary she learnt to walk, run and even play again. It is safe to say, Rubylu was a fighter.

Rubylu’s cancer came back and she underwent surgery to remove her bottom jaw. Despite re-learning how to eat, she sadly lost her battle.

Rubylu was described by visitors of the Sanctuary as having ‘a kind and gentle soul’ and as ‘an angel on earth’.

We would like to give our condolences to the Sanctuary for this heart-breaking loss.
