Michael is a founding Partner of the pre-merged firm of Miller Samuel, establishing the firm in 1973. He retired from private practice at the end of 2021. He specialised in all aspects of private client work and is a recognised expert in his field.
While no longer practising as a solicitor, Michael will remain closely connected with the firm for the foreseeable future. He remains a well-known and highly regarded member of the legal and business community.
Michael is a former Director of the International Lawyers Network, is a Director of Children’s Classic Concerts, Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland, The Merchants House of Glasgow, and is a Trustee of Queens Park Charitable Trust.
For twenty two years, Michael was Chairman of Glasgow Solicitors Property Centre Ltd (GSPC). In addition, he is a past Dean of the Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow and a former member of the Council, past Convenor of the Law Society of Scotland Business of Conveyancing Committee, and a past Vice Convenor and member of the Law Society of Scotland Property Law Committee. He is also a former Chairman of the Western Club, Glasgow.
